$4500, said it need some work to make it road legal. That seems like a good price. Probably cant buy or build a trailer with a grapple for less than $6K.That would be ideal if price was right.

I want a grapple trailer. Something like this is a little larger than I want but you get the idea.

This trailer is a 5th wheel but has what looks to be a light weight, older grapple. I might have to make one for myself in the future. An old trailer frame and a knuckle boom would do the trick fine.

what size materials & winch? I think I'm ready for something like this as wellI made this one and it works well.
I don't lift large rounds anymore, I make them into smaller pieces by either splitting some pieces off of them or noodling with a chainsaw. Even very large rounds when noodled into quarters can be usually be handled by one person. Also, if you have a large maul, one needn't noodle through the log the whole way, just enough to weaken it. But noodling is sort of fun so I usually do the whole cut, lol. Now that I'm an old geezer, the size of wood I pick up and toss into the trailer is a lot smaller than what it used to be.
