I got that also. Just curious to see what deal was better.

Is everyone still happy with this sharpener? I've been thinking about getting one. Is Baileys ok to order from now? Anyone hacked lately?

I really like mine and I use it a lot more than I thought I would.

If you buy one at least get an extra bit for your most used chain size.

The carbides are brittle so don't force it or they will break/chip.

A friend of mine got one before I did so I learned from his mistakes. I haven't had a single problem....knock on wood.

The only reason why I haven't bought one was because the Timberline does not allow for the 10% upward angle for the Stihl chains.

Thanks. I'd seen about being careful with the cutters. I just wondered how they were holding up long term for everyone. My old Granberg is getting tired.

Can't speak for the long term but I don't foresee many issues. All the wear parts are replaceable.

I'm totally digging mine, used almost exclusively on Stihl chain. Sharpened 2 chains yesterday. Not sure what I hit, but the 562 went from cutting great, to spewing powder. Put the Timberline to work, and noodling a maple, I was getting noodles as long as my... well, they were pretty long.

Thanks. Your 2" lumberjack chest hair is a good comparison.

It's a nice option to true chains up after 5-6 hand filings.

I think of it as another tool to use for certain things, but I'm no axe chain sharpener.

I know some folks around home that think they can hand sharpen fair: they do ok, but I've also ran chain that was sharpened perfectly, & there is a difference.

Try the Timberline, you will like it for rocked chains if you don't want to fool with the grinder.

Just sharpened 2 loops of Oregon 3/8 low pro 91 vxl and a loop of Stihl 325. This timberline jig done good. Before I knew it I had cut the sheet out of my thumb on a sharpened tooth while advancing the chain. Now I wear a good glove on my left hand.

Still need a bore brush of appropriate size to clean steel shavings from the insides of aluminum guides. Wish they were made of something harder...
