Was just cutting spruce burl rounds so regular full comp chisel chain is what I used. The 066 had no problems pulling that chain through the 44” diameter burls. Was rather impressed how it did because I’ve only opened the muffler and got rid of limiters on the carb so I could retune it.

Same things on my Ms-460 got done but added maxflow filter also. With 2 of the same I may end up pulling a cylinder for polishing the exhaust & touching up the intake port at some time. Prolly after the 180 p&c is put on the 017 or the 170 after the new stuff is opened a bit.

well used the 066 with the 56” forester bar to mill some pine in a remote area for someone. Never hooked the auxiliary Oiler and cut 7 slabs 24-30” wide and bar never got warm or seemed to lack oil. Kinda wondering if it has the high output Oiler already or if the 066 round tops had more output than the 660’s. Oil to gas seems about 1 tank to 1 tank.

The 075 died when I was cutting the ovals for a coffee table, acted like I stuck the rings but was running fine till it just quit. Plug didn’t look bad but turns over kinda rough.B579B4BC-4603-46E2-863D-7FDF053E5DB5.jpegFCEB7E31-563A-4335-99ED-AC66FC58735F.jpeg

Fellow offered this to me yesterday.

Very nice low hour 045AVE.

I passed mostly because the ignition can go at any time.

Curse you Baron Bosch !!

If it was a Bosch electronic ignition I would have snagged it. The main version (electronic) of the Bosch ignitions are totally fixable if they fail. There is also an aftermarket Bosch ignition module from a German company called Saegenspezi, though I believe they are intended to revive the older points ignitions. Not sure whether they offer a replacement electronic module.

A bad SEM ignition needs to be replaced with another SEM or converted to Bosch electronic (incl flywheel) for renewed spark.

I don’t need that grief.

If I remember correctly, there is someone on Epay repairing SEM ignitions.... a bit on the spendy side but might be worth it when other options dry up.

Regarding 026, 036, 044, 066.

Was there a factory recommended bar length, or did dealers just install a suitable bar for the region from the recommenced range?

Same for modern equivalent saws?

084/088 not included as it seemed to always come with a short bar.
