True...how about what is average cost people are paying for a clean used ms660. Is $500 to $800 reasonable for saw without any scratches or heavy use on it?? I own several smaller older Stihls and my newest is a ms361(my most used saw lately). Looking at a 660 but not sure what its worth.

I would say $500 is a good running little rough cosmeticly and $800 would be Good Running and near new cosmetically. Apparently out West in some places more but you are probably in the right range if you don't spend more than your range for the conditions listed. Unless of course it is ported, that is a different range of numbers.

Thank you, I was thinking the same. Guy won't budge at 900 though. I rather get a 395 xp anyway at that price range.

Yeah, in my opinion, that's too much considering the cost of a new one. Being a Stihl man I hate to say this but I've heard a lot of really good things about the Husqs better air filtration and cooling. This applies to the pro-shop saws, not the big box store stuff. I'll never give up my 440, 441 and 660 though.

Honestly I like all brands and some models are nothing special and some stand out.
I love big Stihls, Husky has better powerband for me but my 361 hasn't had one issue, not even a bolt come loose. The pro bars and chains have held up best for me too. I really can't knock them. I wanted this saw but 900 for a used saw is too much.

Anybody know what the difference between a stihl 07 and 07s are? I have an 07s I’d like to get going and when searching for parts later I just want to know if they are actually the same saw with different tags. Maybe called an s version because of different porting ect since displacement is the same.

I'm not sure about the 07. I have new old stock p&c and crank&con rod for the 08. I doubt they're the same but I'll look it up.

Thanks they aren’t but I appreciate the offer of looking. An 07 is 75cc the 08 came in 3 sizes actually depends on year and if it’s a 08 or o8s. Smallest 08 I believe was around 47 cc and the last of the 08s was 61cc.

my top picks in the stihl line are 201t, 462, 661. Can do it all with these three from climbing to stumping with a big bar

The saws I take cutting are 2 024s, my 200t, and my 440. I just found an 036 at a pawn shop for $60, sticker said "Poulan".lol Its got a little air leak I need to repair, but other than that it's a fine saw. I have an 34 on the bench. It and the 036 will take the place of my 024s, although i really love those little saws.

Ran 2 tanks threw my 192tc today limbing up a beech tree. I dont run it much every once in a while i use it just to keep it running good. Got it for a backup climbing saw and it is perfect for that. After running it some it reminded me what a good little saw it is. I prefer top handles for in tree work and a conventional handle saw for ground work. My MMWS 661 will be bucking up the trunk this weekend hopefully. Forgot to mention the 192tc has muffler modded and timing advanced by mastermind which really helped it.

I picked up a Super 045AV this week and need the insert for the starter hub. I also need some pointers on removing the worn out hub and installing a new one.

It was more than a little rough when it arrived.

I just pop them out with a straight blade screwdriver if it is the same as one for an 041 or 08 I assume it’s the same style. They have little tabs molded into them that lock into groves on the flywheel.

Thanks Poge. I have one of the Rotary parts coming.

Now, how about the annular buffer for the PTO side full wrap lower mount? I have a part number but it is in the garage and I don't have my slippers handy...
