Or a decade ago's wood from the case before installing those *cough* OEM seals.

The seals are the least of the problems. A lot of the aftermarket seals are decent if they're installed right. Most of the aftermarket pistons other than Meteor are junk but I haven't tried the Cross pistons yet- I've ordered one for a TS-700 I'm building.

I've no doubt you're right on all counts. The concern isn't the quality. The concern is what I was billed for.
