3 1/2lb pounder I owned for 1 day (Monday). Lol
It was pretty clean (6 eye ridges).
Showed it to a co-worker & he bought it.

I really liked it & may be on the hunt for another.

I'm gonna make one someday.
Find a vintage 3.5# maul head (they exist) & mount on a 18" sledge handle I have.
I've always wanted one to play with (firepit).

I use it for splitting down larger pieces to pack my stove full in the evening. Saves from digging through the pile for smaller stuff.

A "Grail" Boys Axe (2 1/2lb) I scored today on the Bay.
I thought everyone would be tied up today & I'd sneak in & take it cheap!
Evidently, Axe Junkies dont take Holidays! Lol
Had to pay a little more than I'd have liked, but they are RARE as Hens Teeth these days!
Pretty clean example.

Oh I know about Walters, a lot of "Axe Guys" have never heard of them.
Great axes & very pricey nowadays.
I got a really good deal on that boys axe (only reason I bought it lol).

12 vintage Forest Kings, all 17.5" long.
Wish they still made em like this!
Only .03" difference in the 6 or 7 I mic'd.
Straight kerf & excellent grain orientation.
Perfect reason to buy MORE Hatchet heads! Lol

A “Genuine Norlund” I just got around to putting on a handle. Unfortunately the only handle I had on hand had a couple weird kinks in it that prevent it from being aligned perfectly, but it’s pretty lol.

I may try and steam the handle and clamp the bent portion later, til then I can just enjoy looking at it.

So I had a little hatchet envy and found this I overpaid it was 50 bucks but bought it and cleaned it up to give to my mom for Christmas. Had to sharpen it as the edge was kinda beat up.

lovely head I liked the tomahawk on page 199. Now after seeing this one I need one

I only own 1 Walter's, but they have a stellar reputation for quality steel.
If you read some of the forums (Bladeforums & Bushcraft USA) they are treated to a high Rockwell Hardness.
Combined with the high demand among collectors, they are a good investment if bought right.

Lotso heads to trade or cash.

I just started this one, OLD Mann Edge 1.75lb head on vintage 17.5" Forest King handle.
Been lazy as far as hanging axes lately, it's been too darn cold!
Feels pretty good just to fit a head on a handle. Lol

Never blued a axe head before, but I have a large Slow Rust Blue cabinet I've blued a BUNCH of rifles & pistols in.
150W light bulb underneath that water bowl.

I'm gonna have to try a axe head.
I have a sand blaster so it shouldn't be a problem.

Me & AJ will laugh at you all the way to the bank!
I haven't been able to anything as of late because of -5° weather (in ARKANSAS one state away from the Gulf of Mexico!!!)!

But I'm on tract to hang SOME of my collection of axe heads!

Gonna clean up the Kerf on these hatchets & Boys axes.
Make some Cherry, Walnut or Oak wedges & when it warms up to 60° (next week), refinish/ hang these bishes!
