Had a down and up kinda day, 254 would not start and run without giving it a shot of mix. My fears about the carbeltater were realized as it just didn't want to do its thing. Also noticed that the tank vent wasn't doing its thing either. Even releasing the pull on the tank didn't alevialle the carbeltater. So I talked with Wayne and we decided not to dicker around with another used carb. So I got ahold of Joe @Onan18 and talked with him about it. After all the dust settled it's looking like a new hd198-1 is going to make it's way here for this saw. Some conversion is necessary with parts from the old carb being put in to make the swap. @Mastermind has done this kind of thing before and any tips before I dicker it up would be appreciated.
Sometimes with old equipment such as this there is always a variable that wasn't planned for that comes back to get ya. Just a bump in the road and might just come out smiling in the end.

New exhaust gasket came for the 032 in the mail today. I changed the seal on the pto side and wanted to make sure everything was all tight on the old girl.
Used some new socket head screws from Fastenal.
New air filter to keep things clean on the inside.

On a different note, fired up the 032 and it ran great, so I figured I would get ready to tune and test it, that was as long as it ran good. Ignition started cutting out after a couple minutes only. Looks like the electronic module will be going in when it gets here.

A new bar and chain showed up for the 254xp today from Wayne. It was in a really big box.
Because it had this in it! I didn't even realize it when I opened it what it was for and when I asked Wayne what he wanted done with it he said it was a 346 starter kit and that it was for me! Pretty farkin cool beans if you ask me. I'm really stoked about it and should be a really fun project. Can't thank you enough @Dub11
