There were some real cool posts on arboristsite eons ago. Had a fellow by the name art Martin in it. A whole f load of info on race chains In it. A damn shame the pictures are gone from it. Gypo logger was involved in the thread b walker I believe was too. I also believe some long term members know the thread. Anyhow. There's one I believe called art Martin will the real logger please stand up. It has some good stuff in it about all this sorta. Stuff in it. Real real good read.

So to do the "clipping of chains " are you just setting the grinder a 0?

Could you do a slight modification like this and improve results for the everyday user. How would this chain run in a hardwood? Lets just say you wanted to modify a chain for improvement of saw efficiency while working not playing. Maybe a little bit of WOW factor around your buddies.

You could. When boring a lot cutting the heel helps smooth it down

Thats what Iam looking for is bore cutting improvement. We only like to take trees that are dead standing or close to it and would like to give some a little poke before hacking away at it.
