I have 5 of those little cheap black ones with all the different tools on them makes it handy. The *b-word when they get hot in 5 secThe metabo is outta my price range, would the HF grinder work. Have a 20 percent off coupon also
Just a guess but 20° back towards the center from 90°So what if you have 2 chain grinders? What would work best (wheels) and what would the angles be for the "clipping" of the back of tooth? I think the leading edge of the raker is self explanatory.
I like 60°-10°-0° . I prefer the black resin wheel for quick material removal without heating things up, but can also be done with the pink wheels as pictured here.

There were some real cool posts on arboristsite eons ago. Had a fellow by the name art Martin in it. A whole f load of info on race chains In it. A damn shame the pictures are gone from it. Gypo logger was involved in the thread b walker I believe was too. I also believe some long term members know the thread. Anyhow. There's one I believe called art Martin will the real logger please stand up. It has some good stuff in it about all this sorta. Stuff in it. Real real good read.
I'd love to see it. Even if it was a "decoy".I have that Art Martin chain, gonna have to dig it out and get some pics. It is a carlton chain, when I weighed it, it was like 50 grams less than the normal 72dl Carlton chain. Lot of work in it, I think Gypo said he paid over 200 dollars for it.
I'd love to see it. Even if it was a "decoy".
Gypo logger had made a comment in that thread joking with art Martin Called his chain a decoy. Pretending it was junk I think.Jake, guess I don't know what you are asking or stating, decoy?
There's a lot of members here filing some very fast chains. Not many
Best chance at winning a race. Fastest saw doesn't always win. The one who is set up with a good power/chain/sprocket combo and a good operator will beat a faster saw with a slower operator or slower chain. You guys really put in the hours l, time and effort in a chain.
What benefits are there in having the fastest chain?
Depends on the size of saw. More work needs done to a chain for a small saw. There's a lot of members here filing some very fast chains.
What does a decent race chain sell for? And who would I contact for one?
