Nice. Older 394 were good performers.
I'm just heading out on the boat to do a little walleye fishing. Will dig up some of my cookie cutting vids later.
People say the 395 quad ports outperform 2 port 394... but I don’t really believe that after running both stock and modified. It’s hard to tell a difference. I guess you’ll always get that one saw that runs better than the others.

Ditto for 461 vs 460. Stock most 461s are stronger, but ported … I like 460s!

This is the only 1 of 2 videos I ever made from a few years back with the help of my 11 year old daughter.
Not a 395 or 066, but this is my high hour 6 year old completely stock 562XP running a new 3/16 round filed .325 23RSC chain with a 7 pin rim on a small mount Jonsered drum.

This is how I like to test saws cookie cutting, square consistent wood mounted in my fold up competition stage trailer. I built in another log stand on the opposite end of the stage to run two competitors/ saws at the same time.

Unfortunately I didn't bother swapping out the 562's dogs for a smooth bumper.... as it shows with the extra air I got between cuts.
Dogs like to snag.

I hear that. I like a 460 better than a 461 personally.
I don’t like either of them stock. But I’m used to modified saws as you know lol. A dp cover swap changed the attitude of the 461 quite a bit. I could see myself liking it a lot with a max flo and ho oiler. The price of one is just too much for me. At least new. If I had to buy new I’d go 7910 personally.

Nothing stock is truly impressive to me, minus a 395. The cost of stihls is what prevents me from buying a new one. Why would I buy a 461 for over a grand when I can get a 372 for 650 pho out the door?

I'm going to throw this one in the 064 doesn't get the credit it deserves that's my opinion that was a great saw in its day and still today when it comes comes to a big saw I'd rather luge mine around more than my 660 plus a modded 064 lol need I say more they rip and I'm not talking about one with a big bore I'm talking about just a plain good old port job.

Now that I have an unlimited coil and flywheel on my 661 with an 8 pin sprocket it chews through wood like crazy! This is with the help of a member who talked me through this mod. I couldn't be happier. I have a meteor P/C that I would like to get some work done to see how the real potential of this saw really runs.
