So after sleeping on a 50 vs 60 saw for my smaller needs I have decided that a 562 would be a good choice, way lighter than a 441 or a 661 but heavier than a 261 by a pound but more ass for the extra pound.

After running a stock one today I am surprised how well one can run STOCK!!!!

Sent from my non internal combustion device.
For my farm use and home heating needs, it's the one saw plan I'd go with.

I remember trying that one on a 562 somebody's I knew.... it did not work you are correct. The other one looks pretty promising.

Any bar mods needed?
Probably lengthen 5he slot like normal

BUT, That is no fun!! I explain to my wife, need to have an extra to cut out the saw that gets pinched, then if that one gets pinched, need another, etc. That's my plan and I am sticking to it. Even if I never pinch one, wedges are cheaper, but no fun either.

For CR500 my 562 with a Sthil to husky adaptor. The bar slot had to be lengthened toward the bar tip end and the adjuster holes had to be enlarged. This was done with one of my round files.

3 saws with bar and chains, $2000...
the embarrassment from pinching all 3 in the same tree...
priceless!

One power head 2 bars generally accomplishes the same thing. And is cheaper.

Cutting by yourself teaches you good skillz.

Yep which is a huge pain and at times impossible with an outboard clutch.
