Deer Looks good.
Chasing over here last night.
Antler restriction laws made him off limits even if I could've got the shot.
Corn picked the night before.
Prime time but I'm not much of a threat.
It's fun.

My FIL had a chunk of rubber from his trucking days that he gave me. I also borrowed his tire grooving heat thing.
Tried making a new rubber spacer thing for my jennings bow. May call this one my test one lol. Its far from perfect lol. Little.thinnon one side. Guess i cant jokd a knife straight.
I will take the rubber to work and cut a few of them on the bandsaw so ther little more square.
Not sure how perfect these have to be but i think its kinda close. You guys think this will work? It will be hard to get the bottom of the groves 100 percent consistant but be closeish.

It doesn’t seem like you have much of a choice but I bet it works for a while anyway

I know the material on a couple of my bows is kind of a rubberized nylon or polymer or something

They appear to be molded but just wonder if push came to shove if you could come up with a drawing and have the pieces 3D printed out of an appropriate material

I know zero about 3D printing so I’m probably talking out my ass

I guess for that matter if you had a drawing and $$$ maybe get pieces CNCd

I guess those are pretty extreme ideas cause I guess it wouldn’t be cheap but if you love the bow…

Im thought about the 3d printing but I think its more just plastic? I would think plastic wouldnt last long and crack. If tjer was a material that can be 3d printed i do have a friend that would do it for me.

I dont really like this rubber stuff i got but its all i could find. I wish I could figure out what exactly this stuff is made of. It to me seems like a hard rubber material. I cant find anything on google about the rubber between the split limbs. Cant seem to find a name for it either.

And I just had a new string made for this bow about a year and half ago. That was about 120 bucks. Then last fall went to shoot it and noticed that stuff falling out. Its like putting money into a dead horse maybe.

I also wonder how important that spacer thing really is. I see alot of new bows dont have any rubber type stuff between the split limbs. I have made felling wedges from some white plasticy stuff from work and it takes a beating. Wonder if it would work?

Not sure which model you have, but I found this info. Also Bear Archery is who bought Jennings. Might see if they would happen to have any info.
The Limb Pockets

The limb pockets utilized on the CK 3.4R are of the typical 3-sided design. They are held in place securely by the limb bolt. The limb bolt itself is tapped for a larger than average Allen wrench size, approximately one size larger than normal. The limb pockets are also lined with a gel style rubber insert to help reduce noise and vibration transfer from the limbs to the riser.

I was trying to think of the name of a material earlier and I could think "skateboard wheels" but couldn't come up with it

Polyurethane

That's what the limb pocket inserts in my bows are made out of

I know it's injection molded to make parts like we are talking about and have no clue if it comes as blocks or sheets or bars you could carve up

Not much help but I thought I would throw it out there

And yeah, at some point it's upload_2021-10-31_16-47-12.gif

Arrows are expensive, that's why I shoot each one during practice at a different circle.
