So I ordered this kit back during the Fathers Day promotion in May or June or something. I didn't get around to building until this past week.
I'll start by saying that I've never had a saw down to its bits and pieces. Never have I split a case or held case halves in my hands. The only time I had removed a jug prior to this, was when I initially got my 046 from its previous owner. I stopped at jug and piston removal. I had the handle off of my 026 once, to swap the impulse line and av bushings. That's the extent of it.
I dug in. I had watched a lot of YouTube videos and bugged the living *s-word out of poor Al during the process.
The beginning! I bought this crap.
And I proceeded to put the crankcase together. Uhh...oops.
Yep. I sure did. Fml. Good thing I ordered spare gaskets and crank seals.
So I proceeded to do what anyone without specialized tools would do. I got out the bfh. And buggered up the flywheel threads.
So I hand cut those with a triangle file. Perfectly...thank goodness.
...to be continued...
