We can let someone impartial, maybe Dan (if he is willing), install the same chain and do the cuts.

Hope you don't mind I mention you Dan, but I've seen you do tests in the past and I trust your judgement.

72 cc. Larger bore, shorter stroke than current offerings, but the same 6 Hp rating as a 461 (76.5 cc).

But comparing a broken in muff modded saw to a new bone stock one will usually not go well.

Brake in can make a big difference in saw performance.

One could make 6hp at 10500 and the other 6hp at 9000. The curve could be different as well. It would be interesting to see the difference.
