Watch the 2nd cut in slow motion... the 572 hit the wood first, but the Stihl passed it and finished first. Very close though.Because he jumped the start...

I like Husqvarna, but that's what happened.
The 572 also maintains similar weight to the current 372 with the larger 6203 bearings it seems. It’s getting harder to tell differences between these saws besides the color/name. Stihl is using spring anti vibe and direct injection filtration like Husky. Husky is using flippy caps like Stihl. Both are using auto-tuning carbs, inboard clutches with side chain tensioners, and auto-style air filters.
What about a Stihl makes it a Stihl? Supposedly “built like a tank” for durability was a Stihl thing- but the Husky supposedly is using larger 6203 bearings after a ton of testing to reinforce the bottom end. Stihl got their saw to market sooner but went with 6202 bearings. I wonder if the reputation for Stihl and Husky will change in the future.
It weighs 14.551 lbs without fuel and oil or bar according to the specs if I’m not mistaken. I’m liking that 39mm stroke listed in the specs .I thought the 372 was just over 14 lbs and the 572 about 14.75 (like a 460).
The 462 is going to be under 13.5. Unless the Stihl under performs or has durability issues, I think it will be the favored saw of the two.
The MS 500 I will be 80 cc, injected, and about 13.5 lbs. It may kick both their butts! Will be like the new 064!
Please don't soil the 064 by metioning it with these new computer saws. The legend will never be duplicated by Stihl again, these new saws have more plastic and polymers then magnesium anymore.
I agree with you Mike, improvements are improvements with anything, not just saws. I’m excited for the new saws coming out in general recently. To each his own, but IMO, if it has less weight, the same performance, and durability (which some of the early 064s did not really have) I don't care what they make it out of.
My current Mustang has plastic inner fenders, I drive it all winter every year. If it had metal inner fenders like the originals, they would be long gone already.
I'm lost. The thread says 572 but everyone is talking about boat anchors.
IKR... even when the specs show how similar both saws are, when the features line up for 90% of important stuff, and there is a video showing how they cut neck and neck, there are still those die-hard brand loyalists claiming one is better than the other.
Sorry Mike, I think you’ve been drinking the kool aid too long.
Bigger crank bearings etc too. I will take durability.
372 on left 572 on right. Heck like to see what they both got. Heck even the 565 too.
