Keep in mind this saw Probly doesn’t have much run time on it. So common problems from years of use could most likely be ruled out.

True that. I'm thinking how much time it hasn't ran may play a big part too, especially with that AM carb. I haven't had much luck with AM carbs.

So you think that between the 2 weeks of airplanes that saw became useless?
Cause Dave used it just before packing, everything in order.

But whenever i start the saw it goes wild...no problems during function

However i ll swap carb to test

You mean after it starts you can hit WOT? You piss rev it a bit and it dies?

It never dies, it works perfectly until i press kill switch

Problem is only related to start. After that the carb is working as it should idle or high revving all perfect.

That’s why i am hearing options and will walk as I think it’s closer to the problem

Just trying to help connect dots between what he's written and what you are trying to tell us. Dave says he piss revved it.

There's not really enough info to help you diagnose it without some guessing on our part.

If you have diagnostic equipment available, that's the best route. If not, you can swap parts as a test.

Dave played with the saw and that’s starting Ok and functioning.
After unpacking myself like 2 weeks of post mail the saw doesn’t start. Once started it’s fine. That’s the reason I don’t think it’s 100% carb.

Problem is or maybe DRY condition at choke.

I believe it’s already written before...

The "T" and "L" relationship are not right for the atmospheric pressure at your location. Open them both up more.

Steve
Already went to the screws but to get them only on standard one turn.
Tomorrow i ll try also your advice. Might be that simple...

Weird that the saw was Ok and after arrival it’s not.
Thanks for your input

Make sure it is closing the choke all the way If it runs fine after you get it fired up It has to be fuel related, If the choke is not choking it will not start cold. If it is not a choke problem, get another carb on it. I am betting it will run, after you get it running put some heat cycles on it

Altitude, air temperature, humidity, fuel etc will all play a factor with the tune.
Ofcourse they do that’s one of the reasons I threw in the basement all saws and i am working only M tronics. Well...Woods Ported M Tronics.

However thanks for your time and input

ok so i sold a saw to Evan in Greece and it arrived safe and sound but is acting erratically. It will only start with fuel put down the plug hole.
It is my build off saw from the 660 kit saw build off and has a big bore nwp cylinder that John Reilly ported, it is the one with the custom bloody paint job.
The saw has 210+ compression and an oem husqvarna decompression valve.
He checked that the impulse and fuel lines are good and reset the carb screws to one turn out each. I am thinking it is the aftermarket carb at this point though it ran for me for a nice healthy piss rev before i drained the fluids and packaged it for it’s voyage.
I am looking for any other ideas he could try before i ship him a new oem carb, i want to solve the problem ASAP as i know he has future fun plans for this saw.
Dave
Strange never had much trouble with the 660 carbs. Not to sound like a butt, but does he know how to toon a saw? Is he running a different fuel mix?
