Well, that depends. I saw a pic on AS where the guy did a base gasket delete and squirted a bead of silicone onto the base right from from the tube. Apparently it didn't run very well, and he took pictures on disassembly. There was a quarter inch bead of goo all the way around the inside of the cylinder LOL. I just smear a little tiny bit on my finger and rub it around. Just so it's wet.

I just bought a tube of Dirko. I usually use Motoseal!Dirko is good, the rest of the silicone sealants I would be cautious to trust.

Love the Wiha stuff. I have a set of allen wrenches I've used during my time in the print shop and they appear as new after heavy use.They're just tamper proof torx heads I've got a set of driver bits for odd ball stuff like that made by Wiha .
