I know the 066 big bore kits are crap, but I have been thinking about getting one to have a play with.
For $30 Us for a kit out of china its no great loss.

The after market kits I have seen generally have really high exhaust, low transfers and stupid low intake.

I am thinking I might try filling the bottom of the intake.
Would a 394/395 piston help correct the bad timing a bit?

I have a Chinese tank handle doing nothing. I might try fitting one of those big carbs to it

Haven't been posting much lately, but been reading alot and working on a 2150. Started out as a 2145 and put a 45mm 350 jug on. Base gasket delete, .018 off riser, .08 off band. Numbers are 105, 122, 76. Squish .018. Has the 359 carb and intake boot. Used the 350 intake elbow and mesh filter. I sanded inside of elbow to match carb. Advanced timing 1/4 key

On the riser I ground it out to match case then filled it in some with jb weld to get some volume back. I played around with this a good bit to get my clearances but good flow. I'm at a point where I'm not seeing much gains anymore. So I think I'm about as far as it will go with what I have. Some pics of the work.

Nice job. Did you feel a difference with the jb weld in the transfers? Or didn't you run it before and after?

@jmssaws
I recal you sayimg you have a big bore saw with a 395 piston
Looking the the specs the 395 piston is about 3mm lower and 4 or 5mm longer skirt.

Do they fit?
Not easily or worth the trouble.
There to heavy,it runs good but I can easily beat it with a oem cylinder.

Now a bb cylinder on a 046 with a 66 piston works well.

Cool!
Would it gain with the 044 carb?

Meh...

For an all out cookie cutter, maybe.

I don't like the 44 carb for a worksaw. Not as stable or "drivable". Kinda like having a 3500 rpm stall converter in your grocery getter.

I did not do a before and after with the jb weld. I figured if I was taking that much out of the lowers I would need to replace some capacity. I have a video on YouTube, just can not get it posted here. It's titled jonsered 2150 with 359 carb 18 inch bar in ash, or ported jonsered 2150 with 359 carb

Ya but a 3500 rpm stall converter sounds like fun in a grocery getter. Lol
