Food crazed bird ate a Slowworm/Blindworm longer than her neck and head/beak combined , about thumb thick.
And that was what was still to be swallowed when I saw her, who knows how long that thing was in total (might have even been a snake!?).
Nothing I could do to prevent it, by the time I noticed it and approached her the Slowworm was gone down her beak.
It has been about an hour since then, she is all slow keeps drinking water, has the jitters - I hope she can digest such a big single meal.

Their metabolism is fast, I am assuming I will know by tonight the soonest.
Certainly tomorrow morning.

Hmm, duck seems fine.
Behaves a little slow, but quacks, eats, drinks, $#!ts.
She sure got a bigger bite than she bargained for.

Crazy bird!!!
I guess you could say.................
she bit off more than she could chew
it was a hard pill to swallow
her eyes were bigger than her stomach

I know you care deeply for the birds but I just had too add a bit of humor

Crazy bird came running around the house corner back from my neighbors tall grass orchard with easily 4" of that Slow/Blindworm still hanging out of her beak.
I thought she'll choke!

P.S.:
Indian Runner ducks have no teeth! ;)

Though she certainly swallowed more and bigger than her body was expecting to digest.

Still spreading *s-word. Anyone heard from @hoskvarna wondering if he’s got into the field yet.
He should have gotten some pretty good rain the last few days. I hope he missed the strong winds that went through.

Actually today might have been his GTG. It is generally right about now. I have been there and good fun.

The supervisor rode with yesterday. He was practicing driving the whole time. Well, until he fell asleep lol.

Do you take your spreader and loader out there then to spread it
Yes. Instead of running 9 miles each way with the tractor and spreader burning off $17-18k in tires I haul to the field and then bring the last load with the spreader and load it again and spread it. It also keeps the mud/mess off the road and keeps the neighbors happier.
