Are you Canadian by chance?
They have had some issues in commercial use.Doesn’t the 681 have issues with the crank coming apart or something like that? Just curious, as I heard of something along those lines.
As far as ported saws go, my "Stumpbroke" MS440 would be next in line....View attachment 128006 View attachment 128007
Video of it beating the 046 and 6401 with same B/C?Here is my CS-670, the next size down from the CS-8000. I pull a 28" bar with it most of the time and use a bar adapter that I made in my shop so that I can run all my big Stihl bars with it:

It has never seriously objected to either a 30" or a 32" bar. Starts all the time, runs strong, never bogs down, and it's a keeper. My 046 Mag is really jealous of this saw, and so is my Makita 6401 with a BBK. They keep asking me, "Edwin, where did you find this beast?"
No, the whole plan is to find a 181 that still has an OEM top end, I owned a nice low hour all OEM and stock 288 and still feel my 181's run better....Guess I need to take 181 fo a spin and see what all the hype is about.
I may need to git me one. Then bore it to 56mm.
I fear it would be impossible to supply this video because I would have to run all three saws and all bars and chains would have to be identical. That's the way it is.Video of it beating the 046 and 6401 with same B/C?

Yep, I know JJ, that's what makes these run so well....If you look at the combustion chamber in an early 181 cylinder as compared to a 288, they're about half the size.
