I have a 16' x16' blacksmith shop and I have a 1944 Monarch 219b model. It does the job of heating it up quite nicely when I am not forging. And I have oxy/ fuel tanks within 10' and 10 gallons of gas along with all my saws. Probably frowned upon but I haven't had any problems. At least I don't have to worry about the floor catching on fire because it's a mixture or dirt and sand.

I've an old Riteway installed with a "Class A Solid Fuel Burning" flu/chimney kit installed to code in my shed.
Poking around an old wood stove and cooking the occasional grub for a few friends is always good.
Would the shed be illuminated by coleman lanterns?

Oh,,,,,50 or 60, give or take.
I can't seem to pass 'em up when they appear to have one foot in the scrap bin and the other in a trash can.
It's the restoration of 'em,,to breath another decade or 5 into them., never have came across a "donor" !
Sniffing them out locally and saving them from total ruin,,,wondering about the camps or fishing spots they've brought light to in the dark.

Good to hear you could get out of doors and enjoy a ride and hope you can get plenty more in before real winter gets here!!

What about a Lil' house outdoor furnace? Let me see if I can find a link. Mix Farms is a dealer. The firebox goes outside and you need a few cutouts for the air ducts.

http://www.mixfarms.com/new_page_7.htm

After reading about it again, it is probably WAY too big.

What about a rocket stove? I have one to cook on when I'm beating around at camp. It puts off a lot of heat and produce little smoke.

This one can have a 3" flue added to it and piped outside. Pretty easy to build if you have a welder.

That mixfarms unit is badass. Of course my main speed bump is what the insurance comp would say.

You could always check with them. I talked to Mix about putting one in my 1500 sq foot garage and they suggested a Fire Chief. That was when FC offered several sizes of outdoor warm air furnaces.

The Lil' House uses a drum as a fire box. Not sure what kind of longevity it would have. They recommended building a roof over it for long term use and to take it down and clean it out in the spring. There are a few more places that show better pics of it. A person with a welder and some steel could fab one pretty easy. The insulation and blower motor could be sourced through McMaster Carr or Grainger.

I have a woodburner in my garage, only use it when I'm in the garage. I've heard of many more buildings burning down from battery chargers than woodburners. Mine gets a new pipe every winter. Been using it for close to 30 years now.
So you started using it when you were roughly 10 years old?
