Sad to hear this about Terry. Ive dealt with him on Cannon bars a few years back and was satisfied. Never know what is going on in ones life at a given time but a business needs to be ran honestly and creditable if it is to be sustained
yeah honestly and creditable . not the way this went down as bad and people getting the *s-wordting end of stick when the *s-wordting end of stick was the end of deal. ttt .

Looking forward to an end to this thread. it's "petty" at best and unfortunately can be a window into how folks deal with life.
WTF? Discussing a con artist - and keeping the thread alive to raise awareness - is not petty.

Nor is it "petty", in completely unnecessary quotes.

Unlike my last comment, which was indeed petty. (but not "petty")

After a bunch of research brought back repetitive positive reviews, I contacted Terry to have my hybrid built. This was in 2016. He said it would be a few months until he could get to it and set a date for me to send it to him. I sent him my first new chainsaw, a new 460 top end and muffler cover. He was easy to get ahold of but was definitely busy. It ended up taking a month or two longer than estimated but my arctic hybrid returned with all the original parts packaged up too. It seems to run well but this is the only ported saw I have ran so I cannot compare it to others. I guess I got my saw built before he went down hill. I would be irate if my saw did not return. I will definitely tear it apart to see what all has been done now. I can see he cut a pop up piston, opened up the muffler and cover but he told me he did not advance the timing. He also told me it should pump up to around 200psi and the best I've got so far is 180 after about 10 tanks of synthetic mix. Maybe it's still breaking in? IDK

180 psi would be pretty close to stock I would think. Doesn't mean it won't perform well. Have you tried checking the compression with more than one gauge? Chainsaw cylinders are so small any variable can cause different readings. I've found that just using a hose with long threads vs a hose with short threads made a consistently measurable difference in compression. On my saws, I don't check compression unless I suspect there's a problem. But Terry Landrum would know that as he has worked on many wicked work saws.

I've learned some people dont like the truth. Some dont like discussing problems or admitting they have them. Theres always going to be backlash of some sort for bringing problems to light, Randy. It's an unfortunate part of being involved with a field or group. Honesty is the best policy however, it's best to be hated for who and what one is rather than a facade.

Folk like me who are too honest will appreciate it.

Ditto!!!!!

well said

I only have one compression gauge, an OTC universal kit. The saw does have noticeably more compression than a stock saw by how hard it is to turn over and it runs well so I wont worry about it.

Gauges are very iffy
I get multiple readings from scrader valves
At the plug and the one's at the end.
Different brands etc.
Not taking up for asshat
Just saying i don't rely on just one comp gauge
If any at all.
