Where are the cross cylinders made? I'm reading @MustangMike 's' build thread and he has noticed differences on a couple of cross cylinders. Also, are they chrome or Nikasil coated?

Nikasil, and China Made, but the ports are wider than stock, and they all seem to run very well.

The last 2 I got are identical, the port timing is similar to the first one, except these two have about .020 less distance to the squish band, so you need to run them with the base gasket (tested one, just touches the top [but rolls over] w/o base gasket). Gasket is .020 and will be used.

Seemed to have been some issues with the Cross MMWS 660 cylinder unfortunately.

like any of the chinese clone stuff currently, QC isn't perfect. Has anyone run a cross for long yet? Long enough to comment on durability? What are Meteor or Hyway 660 p and c's like?

I ran my 660 buildoff saw without a gasket. Had .018 squish

The first two I got were like that, both had great squish w/o a gasket. The second two I just got are different, hence my post (or kinda a warning to check your squish). You would blow your saw up running one of these w/o a gasket.

I must amend my above post. I was able to run all 3 kits (w/Cross P+C) w/o base gasket, and the Cross P+C I put on the 066 crank case.

I would recommend going with OEM piston pin bearing and clips.

Also, fuel caps, chain adjusters, and decomp valves often need either special attention or replacement.
