Swapped out the 12,800 coil on my Makita for a 6400 coil and did a quick tune. Now just gotta find some test wood.

What are you doing with that ‘replaced’ coil? @mettee and I were discussing dissecting a coil and reverse engineering it to identify how it limits and how to defeat it.

Want to donate?

Had the Hooskie Blues a bit yesterday. I got the one hour dinner warning, so started rushing. I’m gonna try to remember how it went with this latest 262.

Decomp plugged and ready to go.

So let’s put another OEM rope in and then let’s add one of these.

Then it becomes comical...

I get it started. No tach, chain won’t slow at idle and that’s likely the clutch spring, but I don’t know that yet. So I keep trying to back off idle. Keep blipping it. Throws chain, WTF! Chain nails me in the leg, no chaps on, didn’t get cut thank god.

Pull bar, I’ve got a .050 bar and an 058/063 chain in it that fit, but obviously too tight and worse when it got hot.

So let’s get it running with no bar, I’ll deal later. Garbage has to go out and the “Comaneet” call has begun.

So Al forgets to put clutch cover on. A few good blips and the NLA 262 clutch blows apart into pieces that launch into the woods.

So far I’ve located the center section and 2 shoes. About to do another 30 min of recon. Anyone have a partial clutch that wants to sell one shoe?

I finally said the best thing here is to walk away, which I did.

So after 30 minutes of using this

B37ED69E-A592-4420-8B5A-251BD867F9FD.jpeg

I came up with 1 rusty flooring nail, 25 thorn scratches and likely poison ivy.

Wifey walks out, says WTF are u doing. I tell her. She says “Pray to St. Anthony”. I say “Can u do it for me? I haven’t been in Church in so long, he don’t remember me”. She’s says she will, I figured it can’t hurt.

So I pray a bit, then suddenly realize that I have this tool

So I start sweeping. 15 minutes later a large snap occurs. Elated, I look under it. I found it! Nope, found the $10 replaceable still available spring.

I figured 5 more min, then I gotta get ready for work. On the last push, “Click”.

It's a new coil, only has 3 1/2 tanks on it. I'd be happy to let you tear it apart but I'd like to make my money back on the coil I just bought.

How have you been Al?
Ok Dave, thanks for asking.

Light at end of tunnel is approaching. Business partner out for 8 weeks Maternity resuming work this Wednesday.

I worked the last 7 days with 4 more to go. Last week, over 80 hours. Another 60 to go.

Last vacation was Dec 2017. First one this year starts this Friday for a week. Planning on cutting and splitting firewood. Perhaps milling as well.

How are you, Mrs T and Cooper doing?

You going big or go home on this one Kevin? Lol
Its a very long opening, and it will be stretched and opened towards the center after welding is completed. This one is for @longleaf and he has requested a single opening. The customer gets what the customer wants.
