The 461 also has a ring on the handle. They use top handles for the small stuff, 460/461 for the bigger stuff, and 660s for the real big stuff. Except the owner, he uses the MMWS 044 I sold him, mostly working from the bucket. Said it is much easier on his elbow (has tendonitis) than the 460/461s, and cuts even faster!

Yeah those saws were so close, that it would likely have different results done each time. But who cares, they are all strong and fun to run.

That’s the old 2 port 394 too. A stock one was virtually tied with a stock 661 as well that I compared it to (within .1 of a sec with same chain averaged over 3 cuts per saw). The 395 is quads/rubber intake boot and supposedly has a edge over the 394... but I have not tested that.

Same could be said about comparing the 064 hybrid to the 661, it really does not seem to make much difference if they are both ported correctly.

I also believe that applies to comparing ported 460 + 461s, even though the 461s have an advantage stock.

Which gets back to my original comment. I've seen strong Huskys, but competitive with the strong Stihls, not dominant over them.

Maybe I have just yet to encounter them. Or maybe others have not seen the strong TM saws, or the El Freako ported by Randy.

I developed a way to get rid of the baffle tube on those without splitting the muffler.

I'm liking doing it this way because I get to use a 4-1/2" cut wheel on a grinder rather than burning through 2-3 little wheels on the foredom. Then bam, bam with the air hammer and the baffle is out. Less mucking around!

Those are AM mufflers. They have the baffle brazed to the top and back wall. The sheet metal seam ripper on the air hammer takes care of both spots. Then I just make a big deflector to cover the hole.

Sorry I don't have a picture with the screen and screen clamp in. This race saw really didn't need one.
