Very bored buddy.
Plus I’d like to run this again at the gtg.
Been a long time since it ran good.
Diaphragms were a little stiff, not bad. The fuel filter was nasty.
Hoping fresh fuel system and fresh gas will bring her back to life.

Yeah
Wasn’t getting enough fuel under load.
At least that’s what I feel was happening.
The 5yr old AV gas probably wasn’t helping matters

First production run STIHL 08.
Made for a short time prior to the 08S.
The only 50cc saw that came with .404 from the factory......that I’m aware of anyway.

Super ez would prolly pull a 10" loop

Most were 16" 3/8 stock.

I had one for $275.

It needed a crank assembly ($320) and a handle/tank ($230) among other extremely expensive items (piston kit).

We did come out ahead but it was close. [emoji26]

For those who have refinished a bar; what is the best coating? Paint and a clear coat or powder coat?

Sent the 041 FB off for sand blasting and powder coating, not a full on “restoration” more of a “resto-mod” to just make it presentable and long lasting (cleaned everything up, new Super p/c, new bearings/seals/gaskets, new rubber lines, new carb).
