I know $250 million dollar C-17 avionics and flight controls like it’s the back of my hand...it’s a very complicated deal...but I don’t know saws like you folks know. Just one of those things where I wish I was a little smarter than the average idiot!

Carry on soldier. We have no concerns about your intelligence. We'd rather you know your job!
Thanks for your service!

If nothing else put some sand paper on top of the old piston and clean up the squish band a bit. You can work it back + forth with a stick (I use 2 of the large paint stirrers).

That was the plan. I need to pull a couple of the chunks out first. Surprisingly the rest of the cylinder is in really good shape.

. Guy tracked me down by calling a old poulan dealer I have dealt with here in the states. Looks like I maybe sending the NOS 475 topend to help him repair a guys partner 7700 with the air injection. Figured he could just leave the tube off.

Swapped the bearings in the FW side...
Warmed the case up till the bearing retainers started to melt, tapped the case to make it fall out waited a minute or two to let the case cool a bit and dropped the new bearing in. Then lightly blew compressed air through the bearing while spinning the inside race with a finger to insure no heat getting into the new bearing retainers.
Warmed up PTO half and tapped lightly to knock it out.
That's as far as I got this evening, didn't have much time..
661 btw...
