Wow Tor I'm pretty sure if I ask the dealers around me about a 550xpg they will look at me like I speak another language. Kinda like last week when I called a couple shops about getting my 550 carb updated. First shop i ask and explain the saw is torn apart for a rebuild. They say oh first we would have to put the saw together before we could do anything with the carb. I ask ok what would the charge be to update the carb. Well our diagnostic fee is $50. Ok thanks for your time...bye. Second shop explained there hourly rate is $70 but it shouldn't take that long...ok thanks for your time...bye! Next call was to spike60!
if you are not in hurry Dan, I may be able to get a xpg kit for you, lack only the most pricey part, a flywheel and maybe the rear heat element.

My local dealer did an update in less then 10 min, and no charge. Glad I get the VIP treatment there.
same here, I pay nothing, he trained me up how to use their AT program incase he wasnt on job.

That's exactly where I'm at with this 357. It don't hold a candle to the 562 and the 346 is a better performer in a smaller package.

I'll stick my twirly thing in it eventually and see what happens. Too many projects at the moment so that'll probably be awhile.
the 560 weight just a little tad more, but it has a more slim power head, and it is a 3.5 kw saw.
The only thing I dont like with 560 is its front handle bar, to fat my liking.
Nevertheless out from the box its supreme over the 357.

I dont know where my 359 goes, if I get over a G kit I may keep her if I put a 357 top end kit on, but I dont stress with it.

Ok experts, got an odd question for you:

Working on this 394xp, date code says 1992 build, and the OEM seals I got don’t seem to fit properly. The clutch side seems too small and the flywheel side appears too large. Both are the same seal # according to the IPL (couldn’t find a working 1992 IPL and have been working off of a 1993). Are these different size seals? Am I missing something here? Already pulled these seals out of the case.

Do u like the Milwaukee drill beaglebrair? Do u think it would put decking screws in?

Buddy of mine has the same one and uses it for deck screws. He is retired and does decks and other stuff as a hobby.

It'll run a few in without any problem. I prefer the 1/4" impact for screws anymore. I tapped most of my maple trees this year with the drill.(about 50 5/16" holes)

I got the drill and impact combo mainly for the work bench because they're lightweight . I find myself leaving the 18 volt stuff behind and grabbing these little guys a lot more now when doing odd jobs around the house.

Exactly
It’ll put some in, but not with the speed or strength of an 18v. I like them for small work as well.
I really like the number one setting on the impact! Not only is it low speed, but low torque, opposite of low speed on a drill. perfect for putting fasteners in, without fear of over torquing, then tighten by hand.

There’s a lip you have to roll the seal over on. You need a rolled up coke can or something like that to help get the seal over lip. Double check the part #.

It’s pretty easy to drive the seal in too deep too. I know because I’ve done it :(.

Actually looking at it more, it looks as if I didn’t drive the flywheel side in far enough. I could have sworn when I stripped it down both seals were flush with the top of the flange

As of 2 hours ago, this 775G is on my bench!

The 775 is one of the more impressive runners of its time. I just rebuilt one with a brand new top end and I'm absolutely amazed at how much of a hotrod type runner it is. Watch out for nos replacement pistons because some don't have the skirt notched and will block off the lowers too soon.

Awesome 111s there Jim!!
Thank you Frank, but the honor goes to Heffalump on ownership. I had a chance to pick it up for labor trade but I turned it down like a moron.
I'm disappointed that the two videos I posted are of it running with a severed spark plug wire which acted as a rev limiter. There was a very noticeable difference when I fired it back up but I couldn't put it in wood since Dave needed to get back for class. I can't wait to run it again.

Doesn’t get any better than that. Just need a big old log now...
I dropped the log off in Jim's driveway.

The back of my wife's Trooper last night, loaded to head to Jim's. 4'8" of maple.

Fun Fact: My wife's 1990 Isuzu Trooper is the real Heffalump.

Thank you for the hospitality Jim!! A fine day for sure!!
