Found this one in my stash of "not ment to build saws", well, why not

Gone put in new seals + o-ring anyway, but it was okey enough in p&v test. Jug is an 444, doesn't those KS jugs shine up an chainsaw?, if the guy over to pond can use it it will head his way (the guy who lives in an igglo in the deep Canadian forrest)

Has an decent top cover also, rest is just to pick parts from all the other stashy 44's

Other thing I got done today.......ordered a bunch factory tools....
502 50 30 04, crank mounting kit
502 50 30 08, crank mounting kit
502 50 30 15, crank mounting kit
502 50 30 23, crank mounting kit
502 50 52 01, protector
502 20 53 01, protector
505 38 17 23, protector
575 34 69 01, protector
575 34 70 01, seal puncher
Should have all the different protector with them and miss 3 mounting tool kits #02, #09 and #13, and maybe the #20 kit

Its alsmost the time for making seal adapters, should we make a thread about "one puncher + seal adapters"?

Found those crank mounting tools in my trash, 444 socket to the left, the two other ones I'm not sure what belong too.

Will get an friend to make a new 444 socket, it use the same taps as 242, should be # 502 50 30 06 when the two 242 taps get included, 06 kit is NLA.

the 444 piston, it had a bit carbon scoring, sanded a bit, what your guys say, usuable?

I've seen much worse that would chug right along day after day that come here.
I'm guessing that's not an easy one to replace, if so, run it.
Even though I replace pistons with much less scuffs on them regularly that are easily replaced.

I recently bought a well used 372XP and am starting the task of rebuilding it. When I bought it the previous owner threw in a 3.7 Roper Craftsman saw in equally used up condition which I'm restoring the fuel system and trying to patch that weak air filter cover using a ton of epoxy...
The hardest part of any of these rebuilds is removing years of dirt that the saws have on them.
