its my favourite saw model, I got 346 xpg OE, xpg NE, 550 xpg, most of them modded, nothing beat a ported 242 in softwood.
I'm not done with this 242 G yet, gone try it out a bit in wood and strip her down again, and get the case painted.

Is that all......
I'm pretty sure it's in need of a fuel system cleaning/rebuild. I also know the contractor that used it last and he's too cheap to buy non-ethanol fuel so this should be fun.
Pretty certain the air filter has never seen daylight either......
We'll see what it looks like tonight when I get home from work.

I'm sure it is.
The carb ain't cheap either......
$109 dealer cost
Hadn't seen nor heard ICS's name mentioned in a long time Jeremy...had to look up that model. Seems it's been replaced with a newer model 680/688 or something like that. They are costly.

I'll check and see if it needs one..owner said it just needs seals but you know how that goes..the bad seals probably knocked out the piston and cylinder.
Turns out neither seals or P/C is needed for the 028. All I found was a cracked fuel line which I ordered. I went ahead and cleaned the carb but it looked pretty good inside. I guess whoever said it needed seals didn't do a pressure test or a compression test. Compression was 150..

You got lucky.
The 028 that landed on my bench suffered the same thing......nasty azz cracked fuel hose.
Owner wasn't smart enough to stop running it though.
