I just ordered a few 242 parts and a few service tools from my dealer.

While waiting for them, I have a few projects I gone try to get as close as possible to finish.

Up is one well used 2014 model who where carbon scored, paid 120$ for the project, luckily I got a 2012 freebie from my dealer who has a working p&c, not perfect but good enough for this saw. With luck, new head gasket, caber, carb read and a upgrade&flash, remove a bit castings, and that's it :)

Is that a example of what you were saying about changing from standard 2 stroke mix to 'Aspen" Tor ?

Yes Simon, see it to often, going from pump fuel to alculate fuel can be a disaster. The alculate fuel tendens to losen up the carbon cake
I figure if its a "really" low hrs saw its safe but Im not recommending it on the older stuff unless the cylinder /muffler is cleaned out. Its ok as a lay up fuel ...just a little bit pulled through into the carb and the tank left dry for fresh mix when the saw is used again.

Sorry no pics. So my bro brings me a 361 its his friends saw, tree dropped on it, the steeler wants close to $600 for parts.
The metal engine is the only thing that survived,, but he loves his saw,,,
Aftermarket wasnt that cheap and I hadnt heard good things about the tank fitment.
So I found a used 361 for $300 so bought it and disassembled both cleaned and made one good one for the owner.
So I get a bunch of parts (complete 155psi engine) a good 25 inch B/C, enough to box up and wait for a build ,,,,might try some hutzl stuff??? Comments??
Not a bad saw to work on. I swear this is my last one this year,,,
