It's kinda hard to explain, but I think if you look at a 390/372 jug you will see what I mean. The exhaust port exits the jug at a sideways angle, instead of straight out; this is why the flywheel side trans open a few degrees before the clutch side.

So you say this helps make power? Is this because of the way it's scavenging?

So a lower numerical transfer on the side that is larger in volume as related to exhaust port centerline?

May relate to the 460 Stihl and possible the reason some hybrids with stock uppers run better.

066 top end or 52 mm top end

It had the 52mm top end on it Mike, if the customer decides to get it fixed it will get the 066 jug.

Yep, bad, I mean, if it was a personnel saw I would try to clean it up, throw a Meteor in it, and see how long it lasts. But from a repair shop standpoint I cannot do that because I have to guarantee it for 30 days.

Not 100% sure, definitely a-lot of transfer, plating may be gone once it is cleaned, one of the worst ones I have seen in quite some time.

I had this 42 special before, low hour saw, a friend of me demand it so of it went.
Due his lousy elbows he more prefer 346's nowadays, so we did a swap.
I already made plans, steam wash, a bit porting, a few modds, G system...and I'll keep it!

thats true Dave.
First time I had it was through a Stihl dealer who didnt care about Huskies, paid 30$, all it needed was a carb cleaning.
Was ment to be a keeper, when i had it first time I drilled the crankhouse for generator, swapped out most of the parts while I was there, it has new bearings, seals, gaskets, clutch drum etc.
This time I will finish what I had started and keep it lol
