Don't buy just the piston, they are outrageous. For ~$20.00 more you can get a complete cylinder kit.

I will have to check Tor but I believe that they are ~$140.00 or so. I made the mistake of ordering a piston without checking the price first, it was like $125.00 crazy!

Goes great too!
It's bog stock as I fixed it to flip it.
I'd like to keep it and make it go faster but I need the cash more than I need the saw

That's a good looking 036. I'm sure it runs as good or better then it looks. Should be an easy saw to sell. Nice work Tony

I don't cut corners, even if its a saw I am selling.
I put the origional 16" 3/8 Stihl bar back on it for sale.
I ran several cuts with it and it goes great!
I will stick with using my 044 though.

I have a kit from Stihl to replace the steel bushing in their recoils. It might work in your 920.

My 42 has got the last modd, it's a cheap saw 80$ in total, lightly ported, MM, advanced timing, 346/350 carb.
Since I went for a bigger carb my next problem was the airfilter, the opening is no bigger then the venturi to HDA 98.


And here we are, a tad over the 346 venturi.


To early to say if she perform just as well as one of my healthy 242, but the throttle respons is at least on their level.
