Somewhere on here I seem to recall seeing a SEM coil fix where someone cut the potting in half and spliced a chip in to some now-exposed wires but I can't find it anymore. Was I imagining things or can one of you guys point me to that post?

It is Bosch ignition that you can fix with a capacitor not sem. Not sure if there is a fix for sem. What is the ignition on? What's it look like?

The victim is an 056 Johnny Cash saw. It's the earlier two-piece looking one like the guy below. It wasn't a capacitor, I'd swear a guy cut the top off of that chunk of potting and ran two wires out to a nova chip, but I could be imagining that.

I have done that on a Bosch could you swap it to Bosch ignition do you have a flywheel? I just did my first fix with a capacitor thanks to @av8or3 this is what that looks like. If not I may have one of those older sem units on a dolmar I can check tomorrow.

I've got a good Bosch coil, all I'd need to do is cough up $45 for a inner flywheel bit. I'm fine with coughing up the $, I just seemed to recall a freebie way to fix it so I wanted to explore that route first.

Finished up the jug for the 4910 that I am sending to @sawmikaze. This was my first time porting one of the these. The secondary transfers had a ridiculous ramp on them. I did my best to flatten the roof out somewhat as I raised the ports. I ended up cutting 0.040” from the base (no band cut). Raised the exhaust from 115 to 108. Set primaries to 124, secondaries to 127, and the intake landed at 80. 448ABF98-1D55-437B-8BC8-1DF39ACAE877.jpeg

Maybe someone else will know how to fix sem before you buy a flywheel.

Not actually on a bench but will be . Some time back I bought an inexpensive Poulan pole saw which does good except after it's sat unused for a couple of years .Because replacement carbs are so cheap on these things rather than rebuild I just replace them .Carb should be here first of the week .Then it's about a half day of use until it sits again . I think this time I'll give it a shot of Stabil and then run it dry .Might do it might not .

After getting the big Partner going this weekend I felt motivated to get the oiler in my little Partner fixed. I got it running shortly after I bought it but put it back up after discovering the oiler didn’t work. The thing was locked up. What a design, but I got it 05C111AD-25E3-4D46-9BA7-135FE2F48C57.jpeg going again. Now my Swedish Toaster saw RUNS and OILS too!

I have no idea, the only Dolmars I’ve handled were a pair of 133’s and I never did anything more than a carb rebuild on them.
Got a good picture of the flywheel you would need? Dolmar used at least 2 different ones with the key in different spots. I have at least one of these 2 see key location compared to bolt holes and starter pawls
