Technically the 510, 5000, 5100s all used the same piston at the same age.

Good eye on the tank vent. Foam is gone. Needs the new style vent.
Yes, but not all of them has a piston that was previously IN a 510...

I can also smell that you’ve put a new carb in it... And a METAL handlebar?? Sacrilege :D

Homelite 2000. Got it several years ago completely disassembled so I put it back together to see if it was all there. Had every part surprisingly. Has great compression and spark.

Here's my "You suck" find. Was listed for free on Facebook Marketplace. Came with original manual and reciept from 1984. Has 125 psi of compression. Wasn't running when I got it, but cleaned it a little and put some fresh gas in it and it fired off. Bar on it is in great shape and the chain sharpened up okay. @PA Dan and @ChipsFlyin played a pretty good prank on me over it, I'll probably never live it down!

Who did what? Explain yourself young man!!!

Here goes,

So I meet with the seller, get the saw, send some pictures to Dan. A little later I get a text from a local number that the saw was actually stolen and the guy wants it back.

I wasn't sure if it was a scam or legit and I wasn't gonna get myself into any hot water over a free saw, so being the wonderful, upstanding citizen I am, I took a ride over to the local police station and explained it to the officer on duty. He said don't worry about it, but he'd call the phone number that the text came from and see who answered.

Well the person who answered was Mark! I didn't have Mark in my contacts so I didn't recognize the number! Mark and Dan decided to yank my chain and make me think the saw was hot :crazylick: Sounded like the cop gave Mark a bit of a hard time on the phone and the cop didn't find it half as funny as I did, but all is well that ends well and I was cracking up over it. Gotta give those two credit, it was pretty well executed.

TL;DR- if you start getting weird text messages about saws from numbers you don't recognize, it's probably Dan or Mark. :risas3:
