How are the 2x4's contented to the concrete slab? Interested in building me a little work shop/garage one day.
When i did my addition ther is special leg bolts you put in cement as your pouring then just drill hole in bottom 2x4 or 2x6 and bolt down. Gotta put a thin foam layer between wood and cement for moisture.

Well lets see if the info pans out. Been hearing about it for awhile. But never any proof as they are getting better.

Everyone going on about the 390 395 3120 going to no longer be sold.
Dont worry I have been following folks and a replacement is in the works. I would guess 590-595 range. So maybe no big boy.
But I was wondering with the 572 lower end being beefed up.
I was told = The 59$ has a similar but not the same bottom end as 572

When I first got out of college (mind you I had bought a 427 Ford Motor that was in my garage looking for a home) a went to see a guy who was selling 2 GT 500s for $1,500 each. One had the motor replaced with a Ford 428, the other had the original 2 X 4 motor, but it was blown.

My parents were on vacation, (no cell phones then), I begged the guy to take a deposit till they returned, he refused and told me "I'm selling both of them for cash today".

From then on I made up my mind to always have some cash on hand for when opportunities came up. Since the 427 later went into the 70 Boss 302 Body that I got for $800, I guess I can't complain. The body was perfect, it was a real sleeper (no one guessed that engine was in there), and it handled a lot better than the GT 500s would have.

Love the old cars. I'm a Ford truck guy but, prefer the GM cars. Corvettes, Camaros, & Chevelles. I've had a couple Vettes over the years, & had a pretty sweet '70 Camaro at one time. I wasn't in love with it though. I like the '67, & '68 better. Although when it comes to the Chevelle, I like the '70 best. Go figure.

The '70 Camaro, I had bought for $5K. It was all original, & ran really good. It was not perfect but, had plenty of potential. Had a car guy appraise it right at 10K (2003). For Sh*ts & Giggles, I listed it for 12K. Sold it the first day for 12K cash. Looking back 15+ yrs later, wish I still had it..lol. Although, I could say that about at least a dozen vehicles.

Well got the d44 tore apart. Its got a seized piston. Im pretty surenits just from sitting.
These old saws sure seem tough to take apart compared to newer stuff. Hope i can remember hiw it goes togeather lol. I took a bunch of pics along the way.

Any tips to getting this piston freed up. I was gonna let the oil soak ( its sea foam) for a few days then get a peace of hard rubber or something and very carfully tap arpund edges of piston and seenif it will come free.

Very Nice! When I had my first Mustang (a Black 67 Fastback 289 4 speed) my good friend had a Blue 69 Z-28 Camaro. We palled around together all the time, good memories. Wish he were still around, but the Big C got him.

That Camaro has been fully restored and I know who owns it. In fact, he has 3 of em, (all 69 Zs) and all fully restored.

Yeah they just grow on you there all great.lol
That’s true! But 68’s rule! Lol it is crazy how things can grow on you, sometimes hate a car or truck when it first comes out but over time it grows on ya, and then there is love at first sight! Lol

I still want to build a ‘68-‘69 Dart. Plan will be a big block/auto. Have been researching modern fuel injected drivetrains, that with the 8 speed autos would be pretty sweet in the relatively light Dart. But, that is a couple years down the road.
