Glad I do not live in Mpls, does living in Illinois equate to the same as living in Chicago?

Earlier I was told me paying dealer price under $500 was doubtful as they had paid $535 OTD with a 24" B&C so I was asking how much of the $535 was tax and cost of the B&C which had nothing to do with the dealer making money or not only asking what the OTD price was pretax.

I used Minneapolis as an example because that was where the dealer was from in the that they guy that was trying to bust my nuts quoted. As for Minnesota you have a statewide 6.875% tax and I bet a dollar to a donut there are few if any locations that do not also have local sales taxes. The AI bot says your average is 8.04%.

As for your reference to Illinois and Chicago. the Illinois sales tax is 6.25% but of course we have local sales taxes. The AI bot say is Chicago the combined tax is 10.25%. I do not know as I never paid any there. My county is a total of 7.25%

I buy in Iowa which has a 6% tax but many have a local option school tax of 1% bringing it to 7%

No sales tax in MT.

If you don't plan on running that 044 sell it! I'm not the one to talk though... LOL
I know there are a few places without sales tax but those states get their revenue in other ways.

And Mpls is only 20ish miles from Wi with a much lower sales tax as well.

You could always do something different and chuck it in front of a semi on the interstate.

Monetize the the video and you could buy lots more saws.
Now we know why you are called Nutball

What state allows such unless they are farm tax exempt or buying for resale? If they are bought for resale the sales tax must be paid on the sale. I am farm tax-exempt but it does not apply to saws. Many states do not require the collection of sales taxes for items shipped but of course Stihl items cannot be shipped so taxes must be paid.
Maryland taxes the SHID out of it's Servants. BUT, yes, there is a way for businesses to get a reprieve on sales tax. When we buy goods and materials for clients, the tax id number a business can be issued, exempts them from point of purchase taxation. However, I believe that Maryland gets the tax one way or another by requiring the business to pass on and collect the tax to his customers. A total of the year's sales taxes paid to the business at tax time is then owed to the State of MD.

I know Delaware has some sort of interesting corporate tax structure. I worked for the US Army Corps of Engineers in the early 1990's and every tow boat on the Mississippi said port of somewhere in Delaware.

Then there was the famous Rain Tax that Maryland implemented...that went over well. Glad I don't live there anymore, 17 years was more than enough!

You forgot the Shid tax too. For those of us on well and septic. MD has to get their fair share out of every Living, Breathing, Eating and Pooping slave who is stuck here. I haven't been able to escape the NOT SO FREE State for 59 of my 61 years on earth. At least my parents escaped us from Cleveland when I was 2.

I would wager the property takes rates in the great lakes states are all higher than MT.
True that. I know back in PA where they have a sales tax, the property taxes are insane!

I am pretty sure that CA, MA, CT, WA, NY, all have far more insane property taxes than PA. I know MD beats PA which is why many Marylanders fled to there. Now we flee to TN, DE, WVA.

Oh, I am sure you are right. I don't even pay 1k (it's around 700) on 160 acres with buildings on it.

Here in Marylandistan, I think my wife says the taxes on her house are $6-$7K, My dad's place on a postage stamp and attached to 5 more houses is maybe $3k and my house on 1 acre up in a country area is maybe $2k+

Some fellas in a gun forum I am in speak of property taxes in some parts of Baltimore County, Montgomery County ( near DC) Anne Arundel County ( near Annapolis the state Capitol) can see the owners paying 10k-17K on up per year.
