Top notch porters back in their day. Both way older then me and retired from the game.

MVP was the top racesaws builder from Canada back in his day and his saws are still competitive.

Big Dave is from MI and was a dolmar dealer and puts on the race event at Luther MI.
Do they still do the race in MI?

See if you can get some info on it.
Maybe classes and such.

Have thread on Luther forever. ;) Info I remember.
Luther logging days. Right downtown Luther Michigan. There will be a lumberjack show there with people coming in from several different states. Should be a good show. If your interested in the show give big Dave a call at (231). Great guy.

3 cube muffler, 5 cube pipe, open hotsaw. 10x10 aspen.

Heck thread. http://chainsawrepair.createaforum....r-mi-logging-days-july-6th/msg42356/#msg42356

I wonder if they'd let a couple hillbilly's from MO show up and race?
Always looking for an excuse to go back to MI to see family.
If they'll let us confederates come play, Im in! I have family a little ways to the south near Grand Rapids.

Why not ;) there has been folks from Alabama and Louisiana there before.

They used to have 2 shows in 2 days so was very cool. Race Luther on Sat and then race Fife Lake on Sun. Cliff Helsel put on the Fife show.

Redmax. Really?

The most beautifully casted cylinders I have ever seen. Butt loads of compression and power for 38cc @ just a hair over 9lb. Silky smooth spring AV and well balanced with great air filtration. They are the pinnacle of 40cc saw perfection. I've never regretted letting a saw go like my 3800. Especially now that Stihl has 3/8LP chisel chain.

And honestly I want you all to think about which saw does the most work for the least amount of $$$. A pro 40cc saw will see more run time than most any 80+cc saw. Limbing, topping, brush cutting, and cutting small to medium logs. Besides felling and bucking a trunk up, the redmax would do the rest with way less effort on the operators part.
