What oil is best? and what ratio?

Here's my Husky 525LS trimmer that has 23.3 hours on it. It's been fed a steady diet of XP oil and 90 octane non ethanol gas at 45:1. The black carbon on the piston top and in the exhaust port rubbed off fairly easily. What do you think?

Id sure use it before the Stihl oils. U gotta alil blow by there

Keep runnin it. They say using a non full synthetic will seat the rings sooner but Im sure they will eventually seat with that XP

It does take a little longer to seat rings with a full synthetic.... usually run semi synthetic for a couple tanks after a rebuild

I think there is some merit to warming a new engine up to full operating temp, then running the crap out of it. I have had perfect results doing this.

To seat rings well you need to run it hard.
Like you said,warm it up then beat the *s-word out of it. I usually don't use synthetic oil the first tank.

How long does 2 stroke oil last. I am thinking about picking up a bunch of the Dolmar synthetic before it changes to Makita and the price goes up. The Dolmar is only 4.99 a 12.8 oz

I don't think it expires. If you have any you're worried about, send it to me. I'll dispose of it properly, running it in a engine.
