2S is injector oil. You will notice it's not as clean as 2R.
There are no warts on 2R. It's great oil that has a track record of great performance longer than most any oil.
I had a gallon of 2R when I first started using Dominator. I finally used the last of it. Absolutely no issues with 2R. Great oil too.

I’ve been using 2R for years now because I had such a stash. Never an issue and always plenty of lube. More than happy with it. Yes that’s what I’ve understood about the 2S. Seems to be guys that like it in the Yamaha 2stroke snowmobile world. Not sure id wanna use it in ope. Unless it’s a cheap saw or trimmer.

Randy, how did Dominator rise to fame in the saw market?
It was one of two oils that faired best in a crazy endurance test that a former member here did. I tried it because others mentioned how nicely it tuned, and how clean it ran. After a quart I pulled my test saw apart to see how it looked. I was sold.

I wonder how many weedeaters have died at this point with his oil testing. I enjoyed observing his tests and thought his method was reasonably sound for working from his garage.

He got butthurt and deleted nearly all his posts here. I don't remember why.
IIRC, some were questioning all the “variables” instead of taking his testing with a grain of salt. I thought he did a great job controlling what he could, and performing the tests. I’m pretty sure he let them get to him, and decided he had enough.

Crazy to the point of not having any relevance if the test was even actually performed.

Ran saber at 32:1 in the fleet of saws for about 18 months. Would never run saber in the oil injected snowmobiles because I was afraid it would strip out the plastic oil injection gears. It's too thick in the hard below zero temps. It won't pour from a bottle at 30 below zero.

The saber residual in the crankcase of 90 cc and 100+ cc chainsaws was so gummy in below zero temps, the saws were hard to start.

Have always ran the lucas 2 cycle in the snowmobiles because it pours at 30-40 below.

To simplify things, I have been running the lucas in everything: string trimmer, ice auger, brush cutter, snowmobile, and all the chainsaws. Switched in February 2024. No stabilizer in the lucas so have been adding 1 oz stabil marine per 5 gal jug.

Dunno if it's built up carbon or shortened lifespan of saws. One saw in particular: a cs 590 has been run only on lucas since new. I'll pull apart the saw in March post up pics of the cylinder at the 1 year mark of lucas.

30 below zero last February:
