One drop of dye and it would look like 2:1I don't get excited over the color. Its just dye. A drop of that red fuel dye in this and would look like 50:1 probably.
Have you heated them up to 200 or so and then let them cool down like a saw would do after running in a cooler environment and then let it sit? I’ve opened saws with rust and white death from where I live.
I have seen Klotz super rust like crazy! big end bearing, all over the the counterweight and the rod. Kevin also had this issue and switched to Original and hasn't seen that problem yet. Even though my brothers friends neighbors uncle said original techniplate should be just as bad. Lot more going in with fuel, heat cycles and everything else. I ran R50 for years and did see some very light oxidation and a tiny bit from K2, if I'm not mistaken you saw the same from K2?
Took a good break from this thread, guess I'll check in every now and again, too bad the Egg Man can't handle me, guys like him can't.[emoji1] BOOM goes the dynamite[emoji8]. Cool testing nevertheless, helps distract one from all the bad things, pain and craziness going on these days.
Hope you all are well! Keep your love ones close.

I see it all the time in small cc OPE I repair ran on Stihl Ultra. That oil has made me alota moneyI love it!!! Highly recommend itBet that ran great.
Ive ran a good bit of Supertech Synthetic. Id run it anyday over Stihl UltraNo thanks. Id run Walmart oil first.
Looks to be rubbing pretty hard. Probably gall before long but would probably run forever at 50to1?Again. Tough to get good pictures representative of how it actually looks. There is complete absence of scoring. There is a bit of buildup above the ring to the left of center of the exhaust port. Most have this after 100:1. This oil did not. That there is why I'm so fond of K2, plus it likes to be ran at 32:1-40:1 that's what it was it was meant to be mix at.Just in time! I ran some K2 today. Less odor than the Saber and seems less smoke.
Looking forward to the K2 test. So tempting...
Did it cause rust as mentioned? I'm pretty new to this oil. That there is why I'm so fond of K2, plus it likes to be ran at 32:1-40:1 that's what it was it was meant to be mix at.
I believe Mike saw a slight amount, as did I in a saw that was sitting over a year, just a few spots so wasn't too worried, but it was still there. I still like K2 and run it in my saws, but if your equipment sits for more than six months, IMHO maybe run a different oil. You could also run some mix with an oil known to have good corrosion resistance like Yamalube 2R if it's not going to be ran for a good long while. It gets real humid here in southern OH this time of year, if I open my garage door everything will start to sweat because it's still cool, have to run to the dehumidifier from time to time, helps a lot. Those days where condensation drips down the outside of your windows is coming soon.[emoji51]Did it cause rust as mentioned? I'm pretty new to this oil.
