Different filtering on your cars and trucks Kevin. I run metal mesh filters on my sawz. Not worth the risk for me.That's why I never drive my truck during the rain....
Filter with no cover would be bad in rain...a factory saw with a filter cover on it is just fine.Different filtering on your cars and trucks Kevin. I run metal mesh filters on my sawz. Not worth the risk for me.
not bad. but seen better...IMOWhat did you think of it Julian?
Whatchu usin these dayz?
Actually...maybe the outerwears might resist rain/moisture? I don’t remember what they said. I still wouldn’t run no cover in rain.

honda hp2 36-40:1
or schaeffers 7000 or 9000 either at 32:1.
Honda a little thicker viscosity and it just seems to run more free at 36 or 40:1 vs 32:1.
some honda hp2 pics below 2 gallons run at 32:1 661 36" 404RS
fyi - @sawmikaze has been running 40:1 hp2 in all of his saws or maybe it's all the saws in his tree service? ...anyway, good results.
YesSome oils are known to be very hygroscopic, for this reason it's not best to run these oils in saws IMHO. Klotz original techniplate is believed to be one of these oils.
This is exactly why I have stayed away from Klotz original techniplate, and a few other oils like Dominator, Red Line and a few others. These oils state specifically they contain no corrosion inhibitors, and are notbro be use as storage lubricants.Yes
This is one of two reasons why I asked:
I only notice “condensation” in saws with OTP and the Klotz OTP container says for race only. Doesn’t say anything about corrosion protection and even suggests fogging if you’re going to be storing it.
Just about every other good oil says stuff about corrosion protection and some even have fuel stabilizers for storage. Maxima K2, for example has details about corrosion protection.
Also, I’ve got some old Red Armor, smells like dead fish ........ the new Red Armor doesn’t smell like it at all. It’s definitely alot different from what it was
Would not run Ultra. So what you are saying is it's ok to run 40:1 or even 32:1 in a machine with a non adjustable carb that the manufacturer says to run 50:1?
I've been wanting to, but scared to change to 40:1 in the equipment at work because some of it has non adjustable carbs.
Also if you could only choose between Stihl ultra, Red armor or one of the husqvarna oils, which would be the best choice?
