Seeing as they are both 1144's it has to be a 661 cylinder.
I'm thinking much like the open port MS361 replacement cylinders.
Interesting - Last time I saw open transfers on a saw that large was an old Homelite from the 60's.
I can see this thing being a turd !!!!
I think someone swapped Hans Peter Stihl's Viagra for LSD.
Sorta what I think......BUT.
There is also an MS651
Torquey carby saw for 3rd world nations and questionable gas?
Wild. How many countries are these saws and parts made in now?Was supplied as a cylinder from an MS661....
On the left is a 661 jug. Mystery jug on right.
It will bolt on a 661, and is a 56mm bore BTW.

Glad you posted this. I have rebuilt three Stihl 661's but never replaced the cylinder or piston -- just about everything else. All the 661 parts cost an arm and a leg from the dealer. That's what produces stuff like this. The 661 has a slightly larger bore than a 660 (same as a 660 big-bore P/C kit) but a smaller stroke so that 660 engine parts will not work on a 661.
AGreed. I'm glad you guys are so talented. And watchful. Otherwise I can imagine the saws we would end up with. Be like the Johnny cash song one piece at a time.No telling Norm.
