The 660 will go right on if you use the 064 cylinder bolts well same size but they will need to be longer.
So that’s what it was couldn’t remember, maybe I’ll need to try an 064 cylinder and piston on my round top 066 then find an ms650 to run against

So the thing is actually worth to be rebuilt.
064 lighter crankcase, 650 cylinder is more ecomomical and since we dont really have 3foot+ trees in diameter, power wont be noticeable 660/650, and got 650/660 plastic so i can fit that fancy ribbed air filter :D hehe
But can anyone tell me do these parts fit from 660 : brake handle, handle, recoil, brake mechanism, ignition coil and optionaly crankshaft + ring seals.

mainly because i wanted them to order over the farmertec/huztl site, for my use they are more than enough and overhere parts are anyway not OEM, but prices are OEM.

Brake handle- may require longer recoil side screw and spacer. I’ve used 2-3 660 sizes with proper modifications. Better to go oem for your first build, though.
Coil- depends on your flywheel # and your case screws. What’s wrong with your coil?
Handle- yes, but most AM are cheap and will bend. Hyway are slightly better than Farmertec or no-name.
Recoil- guts will work but AM pawls aren’t good. Rebuild your recoil with oem internals if it engages fw.
Crankshaft- nope
Seals- pto, yes. FW side, nope. Go with an OEM gasket set for 064 bottom ends.
Brake guts- yep.

I would highly like to go oem but... As a student my budget is limited.
I thought about placing a 650/660 complete recoil cover, i more like the way it looks :s (dont judge me) but dont know if screw holes would fit.
Asking for coil just in case, looks a bit fishy.
Crankshaft doesnt have play at all, not a slightliest bit, just as main bearings, not sure about seals. Cylinder/piston only a bit scoring bellow intake port, nothing else cant be felt. So basically 50$ in cosmetics and miscellaneous and its gonna chooch as new.

It's a ms650 like Stump Shot said you hit a home run you got the best of two world's of the 064 & ms660 very hard to find a ms650 I've only seen one still in the box and I kicked myself for not buying it.
650s are actually not that uncommon overhere. You can get one for 300$ in working order (not perfect but..)

All depends on what you want lol nothing wrong with a 064 but like everyone else has stated OEM parts for that particular saw is best some AM would be fine but I won't get carried away with them but if that's all you can afford I would definitely be looking for a 650 just for the fact that most of the parts for the 660 are the same as the 650 so that opens you options big time.

I still dont know *s-word about chainsaws, im still in "oh this one looks better, is bigger, or has more ccs" hehe :').
I mean this chainsaw is pretty much complete, just to fix few this and im very sure that it would work just good as any other, but if i ever decided to sell it, i would have hard time explaining what am i actually selling as chainsaws like these are usually sold for pretty much more of the half of the average salary overhere.

But other than that, crankshaft is flawless, so i think it might be saved with a bit welding and lathe job, my father's godfather ( or something similar) has lathe so ill visit him some time soon

Has anyone tried painting crankcase with white acrylic can spray (+ spray primer)?
How durable is spray paint on crankcase?
