Not a saw expert by any means, but am quite impressed with my Dad's 261C. That said, my little PS421 with the euro Muffler screams with an 18" bar, and my 562 is the perfect next step up. Don't really see the need for a 50 in my situation.

Regarding current 50cc saws, the options are 550xpg, 550xp, 2253WH and 2253.

Considering anything else is a waste of time.

I wonder if that 261 II lost all the weight like the 362 II did?

Unless you need decent air filtration, decent fasteners, better spikes, an inboard clutch, a bar that'll fit your bigger saws and vice versa, and a few other things I can't think of right now

:)

And if anyone mentions that a 261 is a heavy saw I'm going to piss myself laughing

It's not heavy, but is chunky and not the best handling 50cc saw. Good saw though. :cunaooooo:

Regarding current 50cc saws, the options are any Stihl; John Deere; Echo; Kalbalt; Paulon; Sears Craftsman; Remington and then you have all the Electric chainsaw's and don't forget about loppers
