Finally got my backing plate machined to mount my 4 jaw chuck to my rotary table. Soon as I can get my 24 super jug indicated and center on the mill, I'll be able to play with the cool kids in this thread

That is awesome! So you will be cutting on a mill what the others do on a lathe... Can't wait to hear how it goes!

Would a 18" 063 .325 work? Or is 16" the sweet spot?
It does well on mine, but mine is a 26, and has extra potatoes.

Swapped the coiled tonight.

Anyone know what this skinny coil is for?

I was told it was from a 260. Bolts don't line up.

Our 260s at work do not have that coil. I kind of looks like a 210 coil

I made the cardinal mistake of changing 2 things at once.

This is a different coil. Same timing. Added a factory ZAMA carb.

Set at around 15,600. A bit fat. Turning 11,500-12,000 in the cut.

Got the AF cover to fit.

The question I have is whether the 044 carb is really worth it. On smaller stuff, it may be.

For all around cutting, with an rpm of 12k in wood, I'm not sure if the extra airflow is needed.

The 026 boot is quite restrictive. The 44 boot alone may be an upgrade.

I'm gonna bring the 194 carb with me to the CT GTG. I'm hoping to get this lil guy on the Dyno. Swapping the carbs for a run shouldn't take that much time. Dyno measurements will answer this question with no guesswork.

Adding the bigger carb may be a mod o f the past.
