Can’t find much info on cromal but the part number lines up with Williams.
Also the very original kobalt was made by Williams. I’ve got sets of those too. Never had a failure.

Original Kobalt tools were fantastic, every bit as good as Mac/Matco/Cornwell and very close to Snappy. Its really sad how Lowe's has dumbed them down to just another throwaway.
I bought a set of Kobalt wrenches 30 years ago. Picked them because they would clean up easy like SnapOn did. They're still good as new and I believe the only one I've lost and replaced is the 10mm.
Disappointing to hear the quality has dropped off.

When I saw what Kobalt had become, I sold all mine on Fleabay for more than what I paid for them. Not interested in grossly inferior warranty replacements. Sadly, Snap On did the same thing to Blue Point. When I first got in the business, Blue Point tools were awesome. They were USA made and worked just as good for half the cost, but with a plain finish and fewer options. My first tool box was Blue Point, and the only difference between it and a Snappy box made in the same factory was you couldn't order different drawer arrangements. Now Blue Point is the same Chicom junk you can buy anywhere.
