Triple, I ship with United Parcel Smashers a lot, their company Haz-Mat policy is any item that ever contained fuel or oil must be inside of three layers of plastic to ship.

Joe

Yep. Should work. Use lots of packing material as well so that it is completely engulfed.
Knock on wood, not had one come back yet.

I'll ask Jason to check it in a little, I'm sure that there is only one awake, the rest are probably still sleeping.......... lucky I'm at work, or they'd all be up by now
I don't remember dumping fuel from it. I do remember dumping the oil. No worries.

I stick a dryer sheet in the trash bag before sealing it up. Air out the tank for a day before boxing/ shipping. Never had a problem and I never use UPS.

I have had issues shipping saws to the USA. I forget witch shipper said if it has had gas in it they wont take it.
So now I drain the oil tank, put some alcohol in it, run it for a bit to pump alcohol out the oiler, then flush the oiler tank a few times.
Then I drain the fuel tank, rinse once with alcohol, put a bit more in the tanks and start the saw for 10-15 seconds, drain the tank, start saw again till runs out,,now I let the tanks air for a few days with caps removed,,sometime blow them out with air,,, no smells left, everbodys happy. A pain in the butt,,, I tell the buyer to put a few drops of oil down the cylinder before starting,, just in case.

The absolute best packing job that I've ever seen, including the ones I ship, is the 346 that @Jimmy in NC sent to me.

That saw was surrounded with fluffy foam, looking like it was floating in a custom bed, perfectly centered in the box, wasn't any movement when my 14 year old was shaking it around while asking "Dad, what's in this box ?"

Impressive !!!

I line the interior of the box with 3/4" styrofoam insulation board, to prevent "crushing". To eliminate fuel odors, I double bag the saw, using the "scented" tall kitchen trash bags. Then lots of crumpled newspaper, and large bubble wrap.

This works with "exotic dancers" as well....
