Upper transfer angles

As a reply to my previous posted picture, my two to four port conversion idea was probably my strongest 046/460 that I had done yet. My thinking was like a 7900, small port/high velocity, roof angles to control cylinder fill. I guess I deleted my other pictures of the final finish.

Right now the cylinder is on the shelf, it snagged a ring. I can't flip the piston because my exhaust is too wide. I should not of done the bridge thingies.

I gotta move furniture this morning, Hopefully be in the garage later this evening.

Maybe you can modify a single ring husky piston to work

Opening the gap retards timing slightly, closing it advances it.

I already had the timing advanced, and having the gap too tight Made it too much.

The 395 bottom end showed no sign of trouble, it just let go. Chit happens.

I got the exhaust to wide on a 394 once and that cost me a cylinder also,do enough of them you will mess one up now and then.

If you get an older a saw that's jerking the rope back. Open up the coil gap a wee bit. You'll see what I'm getting at then.

I'm not smart enough to know why.

I've been adjusting my coil gap to .008-.010. Does this sound right?

The 390XP that I was talking about was almost touching......maybe .002

Ok so just for clarity.
.010 would be the normal or lets say 0*.

if I closed the gap to .005 I could be advancing 1*

and if I open the gap to .015 I would be retarding 1*

Does this sound about right?
