It's in the hands of the Tennessee monkey now, updates to come later. I will let you know what he says about the 181 jug.

It's back ! I noticed a few things right away.

Pretty Cool Muffer Mod, big and open just the way we like them. Kinda looks like a robot monkey head lol

New aftermarket carb, said the old one was flat worn out. Gotta give it a run and report back with results.

The man says 40:1 only, so that's what we've got. I need to find a local source for ethanol free fuel, haven't had any luck so far.

Huh, that little guys new, wonder why ? (Yanks on starter..... Holy Testicle Tuesday!)

The 181 jugs look like that stock. If you really wanna make that thing a beast- have an 064 piston turned down with a small pop-up. You can get 200psi out of it easily and it runs decent with the stock port timing.
OEM stihl slug ? will a Meteor 064 slug work ?

I'm still interested in more info about the 064 piston too @jacob j. Monkey man said the 181 jug looked "OK" but wasn't worth porting over the new 288 top end. So I'm thinking I need to find another saw and put the 181 jug on it. Might as well play around since it needs a piston anyways.

Great thread magic man! I love those ugly duckling sleeper saws, even better that it's a 281/288.

I always find the hardest, narliest trees to shoot my videos. Lol should have found a pine tree or poplar, but instead here is another hard maple and I'm cuttin through a burl. Saws tuning up nice and was getting faster the more I ran it.

That is a pretty crisp tune. I run em pretty tight like that too. Might wanna give her just a little bit of high, very good running saw tho great job.

Thanks, I did fatten it up after I listened back to this video. I'm still getting my ear for tuning and recording then listening back has really helped me.

Thanks Again, I think the saw turned out just like I wanted it too. It's a runner that's not afraid of the dirt or the woods.

OK........I see you are like me. We both need to work on our chains. LOL
Lol, Yep , that's a brand new Stihl RSC chain which is sharp to me, but not sharp compared to most guys chains. I recon I'm gonna have to contract one of them fancy square grind chains just for videos......

To me that was a saw in a work environment. I'd like to see the torque we always hear about. Got a bigger bar ?

Work environment is exactly right and what the saw was built for, 7 pin drive, box stock chain, curly knarly worst case wood.

You wanna see torque ? Watch it pull my 205 pound rear end up on my tippy toes in that first cut lol

I do have a 32" bar with a loop of LGX, it's raining today so I suppose I could work on sharpening it up.
